Women's T20 World Cup: India to Face Ireland in a Race to Semis
By: WE Team | Monday, 20 February 2023
Women in Blue will take on Ireland today after facing a defeat against England in the last match of ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. The team will fight it out to bounce back after the defeat and make it to the semi-finals.
Although England slipped to 29 for three at the beginning of their innings owing to the skillful bowling of Renuka Thakur, who took five for 15, India could not stop them from putting up a decent score. India was unable to chase down 152.
With the loss, India is most likely to come to a second-place finish in Group B. On the other hand, Ireland captain Laura Delany said there is more to come from her side as they end their ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 campaign against India on Monday.
Ireland had been winless in its first three matches, facing a narrow defeat against West Indies on Friday which meant they could not qualify for the semi-finals.
The tournament is set to come to an end at St George’s Park with team India looking to bounce back from its defeat at the hand of England.
