Women in Himachal Pradesh to receive a 50 percent Bus Fare Discount

Women passengers in Himachal Road Transport Corporation ordinary intra-state buses would receive a 50% fare reduction, according to the Himachal Pradesh cabinet. On the occasion of Himachal Day on April 15, Chief Minister Jairam Thakur issued an announcement in this regard.

The Cabinet also approved a government guarantee in favour of HRTC for a Rs. 160 crore term loan to purchase 360 new buses and other transportation vehicles.

From May 1, it has also agreed to provide free domestic water delivery to people in rural areas.

In addition to the refill provided at the time of gas connection, the Cabinet approved providing two free gas cylinders to Mukhya Mantri Grihini Suvidha Yojna beneficiaries.

It provided its consent to the state government's ordinary female employees taking up to 12 weeks of child adoption leave.

It was decided to increase the honorarium of part-time workers in Revenue Department patwar circles from Rs 4100 to Rs 5000 per month, lambardars in Revenue Department from Rs 2300 to Rs 3200 per month, cook-cum-helper under the Mid Day Meal Scheme by Rs 900 per month from April 1, and part-time water carriers in Education Department by Rs 900 per month from April 1.

From April 1, the Cabinet resolved to increase the honorarium of all types of SMC instructors by Rs 1000 per month. It also approved the creation and filling of 66 Superintendent, Grade-I positions in the Education Department to ensure the department's seamless operation.

To help patients, the Cabinet decided to fill 177 Operation Theatre Assistant positions in the Health and Family Welfare Department. It was also determined to fill 100 Veterinary Officer positions in the Animal Husbandry Department on a contract basis via direct recruitment/batchwise recruiting.

The Cabinet has given its approval to fill 130 positions in the National Health Mission on a contract/outsource basis.
