Amity Law School hosted a National Training Workshop cum Webinar on Women Empowerment in partnership with Mission Shakti, the Uttar Pradesh government, and the Pradhan Mantri Jan Kalyankari Yojana Prachar Prasar Abhiyan. The workshop's theme for the 2nd e-Edition was "Women Empowerment: Empowering Women- Empowering the Country," a step forward in developing ATMANIRBHAR BHARAT.

Speaking on the occasion, Her Excellency Ms. Anusuiya Uikey, Governor of Chhattisgarh said “the meaningful things said in the program will reach other women and students and they will get a new direction. At present, the Corona crisis is going on, so try to help everybody. In ancient times, the place of women has been important in our country. Today women are playing the role of doctor, nurse, scientist, police, etc. on various fronts to defeat the demon named Corona. It is important to have knowledge of the law in the field of women empowerment.”

Ms. Anusuiya spoke to the students about the importance of empowering one woman, who would then empower ten more people, and so on. The situation is changing, and society's thinking is changing as well, but we must continue to fight for women's liberation until gender inequality is eliminated from its roots. She also said that positive thinking is important for success in life.

Ms. Nabeela Wali, Judge, DLSA, South Delhi, said, Amity has organised a constructive programme in a difficult time. First and foremost, women must improve themselves and step forward in life to be empowered. The Supreme Court and the High Court have issued judgments to empower women on a regular basis, and there is a judgment on almost every subject.

Ms. Jyotsana Sitling, IFS, PPF, Uttarakhand Govt said “Women are well versed in multi-tasking who work at home and at offices. Building social capacity is necessary to develop for every woman. The role of women will have to be made important in every area of economy, management, and development.”

Ms. Vrinda Shukla, IPS, DCP-Women and Child Protection, Gautam Buddh Nagar, emphasised the importance of understanding the connection between women's safety and empowerment. Many external factors, such as the environment, public transportation, and family, play a role in women's safety. Women's liberation is contingent on their own empowerment.

The three key elements of women's empowerment, according to Ms. Shukla, are first to keep yourself informed about the right facts and information that will keep you and others safe, and second, to refuse to accept any abuses, exploitation, or discrimination. We don't talk to someone in many situations, particularly when it comes to domestic abuse, but it's critical to do so.

Dr. Aseem Chauhan, Chancellor of Amity University in Haryana, said, "At Amity, we ensure that women and girls get equal growth opportunities in every field, and students will be encouraged by women playing a leading role in different fields."

Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice-Chancellor, Amity University, Uttar Pradesh welcomed the dignitaries and said “Our culture and civilization have always shown as the important and valuable contribution they make in the development of society. Today women are pioneers in every field of the world. We provide value-based learning to the students so that when they complete their education and go out, then everyone should follow their value education.”

During the program, Prof (Dr) Neelima Gupta, Vice-Chancellor, Bhagalpur University, Bihar; Ms. Garima Prasad, Additional Advocate General, Uttar Pradesh; Ms. Nidhi Mathur, Advocate Supreme Court of India; Ms. Akanksha Tyagi, State President WICCI Skill Development Council UP, Founder Director Edyoumind Solutions & Global Womenpreneur Clique; Ms. Navjyot Randhawa, New Anchor, AAJ TAK, TV Today Group; Ms. Karuna, Director & Founder Kaanti Devi Smriti Sewa Sansthan; Ms. Archana, National level Player (India) & Businesswoman, Toronto, Canada; Dr. W Selvamurthy, Chancellor, Amity University, Chhattisgarh; Prof. (Dr.) Dilip Kumar Bandyopadhyay, Chairman, Amity Law Schools amongst others were also present in the webinar.
