TSWRDC Launches Sabala Hubs for Women Entrepreneurs
By: WE Staff | Friday, 26 March 2021
Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS) has launched Sabala Hubs (Women Entrepreneurial Clubs) to promote and exchange business ideas.
Sabala is an entrepreneurship center focused on nurturing the youth of the TSWRDC (Telangana Social Welfare Residential Degree Colleges) to reach their max potential by providing them the tools to think outside the box, take risks and make real change in their communities.
The hub not just provides a solid foundation in Entrepreneurial practice and Mindset but also access to mentors, co-working space, and international exchange programmes.
Sabala focuses on bringing entrepreneurship education to the women of Telangana. They strongly believe in the power of entrepreneurship as a tool to change a woman's life and empower them to choose their destiny. The hub believes that entrepreneurs are an invaluable asset to society and local economies.
"Marginalized women were grossly under-represented in the business landscape for various structural and societal barriers. One of the insurmountable hurdle women faced today was lack of skills and confidence to start a business," said Dr. RS Praveen Kumar, secretary, TSWREIS.
If given the right tools, an entrepreneur can not only enrich their standard of living but that of those around them. The majority of the Indian population lies with the youth, with half of them being women.
"The idea behind the setting up of Sabala Hubs was to develop an entrepreneurial mindset and innovation among young women of degree colleges and TSWREIS alumni in collaboration with VREAP (Volunteers for Rural Entrepreneurs) and AWESUM (Aspiring Women Entrepreneurs) organizations," he added.
Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS) is running 268 residential educational institutions (from 5th standard to Undergraduate level) in the state of Telangana under the Ministry of Scheduled Caste Development, Government of Telangana. The Society has been working with the noble aim of providing quality education to the needy and deprived children on par with the other advantaged children.
The TSWREIS has been addressing the educational needs of marginalized children, especially Scheduled Caste (SC) children from Telangana's remote rural areas.
