Pistol Shooter Palak Gulia Clinches 20th Paris Olympic Quota Place for India

Ace shooter Palak Gulia has bagged the 10-meter women’s air pistol Olympic quota armed with a bronze medal in the Finals of the rifle and pistol Olympic qualification championship held in Rio de Janeiro.

The Asian Games gold medallist moved up the scoreboard in an exciting final. Seven of the eight shooters in the finals were in the race to win the two Olympic quotas. Although Palak had a slow start as she was placed joint-sixth with another Indian shooter Sainyam.

Only 13.5% STEM Faculties Across 98 Indian Universities Are Women

A study by BiasWatchIndia reveals that only 13.5 per cent of STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) faculty members across 98 Indian universities are women. The researchers found low women's representation in STEM in countries like the US and UK, but not as low as in India. In addition to this, even lower percentages of women faculty members have been recorded at highly prestigious universities like the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Indian Institute of Science (IISc), and Indian Institute of Technology (IITs).

Female Voters to Surpass Male Voters by 2029 Elections, says SBI Report

The State Bank of India (SBI) has recently published a study on Indian voters according to their gender. The study suggests that women will vote more frequently in India than men by the 2029 elections. A total voter turnout has been recorded at approximately 68 crores as predicted by SBI research for the upcoming general elections in 2024. Out of these, 33 crore or 49 per cent are estimated to be female voters.

Women's Participation in Non-Tech Industries to Reach 24.3% by 2027

As of 2023, the tech women's participation rate in non-tech industries is expected to grow significantly, reaching 19.4 lakh workforce members, according to a report by TeamLease Digital. The reports estimate that this number will have a significant increase of 24.3 per cent by 2027, resulting in 24.1 lakh workers.
