FIFA's Fatma Samoura Implores TV Companies to Increase Offers to Avoid Women's World Cup Blackout

Fatma Samoura, the Secretary-General for FIFA has requested television broadcasters in major European countries to present improved offers to avoid a TV blackout of the Women's World Cup which is to be held later this year.

"Discussions are ongoing, but I cannot see a country like France, which staged this same World Cup four years ago, not broadcasting it," Samoura said to a global news agency.

Sarv Khap to Hold Women's Panchayat in front of the New Parliament Building

Olympic bronze medalist Bajrang Punia supports the concept of Women's Panchayat at the new Parliament building. Bajrang has praised the Sarv Khap Maha Panchayat's decision to form a Women's Panchayat in the Parliament on May 28.

According to Bajrang, people are happy with this decision and welcomed it. The organizations that will support this decision are the Mahila Wings as well as the female wrestlers along with them. The Panchayat will be conducted on May 28 outside the premises of the Parliament.

Jyoti Chauhan becomes First Indian Footballer to Score a Hattrick in Europe

On Sunday, a former player of Gokulam Kerela FC in the Indian Women's League (IWL), Jyoti Chauhan made history by becoming the first Indian footballer to score a hat-trick in Croatia, Europe.

Jyoti has participated in the Croatian Women's League where she played for ZNK Dinamo Zagreb where she defeated ZNK Agram in the final match.

She scored three times throughout the game, in the 28th, 37th, and 46th minute, giving her team an easy 4-1 victory.

Making Finance Work for Women Summit organised by Women's World Banking to be Held in Mumbai

The Making Finance Work for Women Summit will be held in Mumbai, India on May 24–25, 2023. Women's World Banking, a global pioneer in promoting financial inclusion for low-income women worldwide, will be hosting the event.

For the first time since 2019, over 300 leaders from the financial services, investor, philanthropy, policy, and technology communities will come together at the Making Finance Work for Women Summit to discuss creative ways to economically empower all women through financial inclusion.

Rahul Dravid gives Indian Women's Cricket Team a Motivational Talk ahead of Bangladesh Tour

Rahul Dravid, Head coach of the men's Indian National Cricket Team, spent some time at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and delivered a motivational talk with the women player's ahead of their trip to Bangladesh hours before departing from the country for the World Test Championship final.

Before their trip to Bangladesh, where they will play three One Day Internationals and an equal number of T20 Internationals, the Indian women's team is presently undergoing a fitness camp at the NCA.

Indian Women's Hockey Team Lost against Australia

On Thursday, the Indian Women's Hockey Team lost their match against Australia A by 2-3. The players have their best where Salima Tete and Sangita Kumari got a net and Alice Arnott and Ruby Harris gave a strike for the hosts.

The Indian players dominantly led the game in the first half, in the first quarter they even earned a penalty strike in the 10th minute. But the tables turned after the first half as the opponents led the game winning a couple of penalty corners, Indian defense stood firm by saving the net.

73 per cent of Indian Women Employees want Menstrual Leaves finds Survey

According to recent research, over 73 per cent of women want their organizations to grant them menstrual leaves, and 86.6 per cent of them support a period-friendly workplace where women can have access to menstrual hygiene products and support systems. The survey was conducted on looking forward to the upcoming event of Global Menstrual Hygiene Day on May 28.

Everteen which is a feminine hygiene brand, conducted a survey on Menstrual Hygiene which also indicated that 71.7 per cent of respondents opposed paid menstruation leave because of concern that it would discourage employers from hiring women.
