TenderCuts, a meat and seafood company, opens its first all-women store in Chennai

TenderCuts, an omnichannel meat and seafood company, announced the opening of its first all-women store in the city, with plans to build more across the country.

According to a press release, the store is a continuation of TenderCuts' aim to allow all buyers, especially women, to step into the meat or fish buying experience.

"Butchering is not a common career opportunity for most women, but at TenderCuts today, there are more than 100 women butchers who are trail-blazing a new career. We are very proud to have launched this women store in Chennai and are planning to launch more such stores across India", said Sasikumar K, one of the company's co-founders.

TenderCuts hires, trains, and deputises women for positions such as retail management, customer service, bookkeeping, butchering, and housekeeping.

In Neelankarai, on the famous East Coast Road, the first all-women store has opened.

"TenderCuts is a brand that has always encouraged women to don different roles and responsibilities ensuring a better career for themselves. This is a first of its kind initiative in the retail segment", TenderCuts chief marketing officer Aruna Jathar said in the release.

TenderCuts is a Chennai-based Omni channel meat retailer launched in 2016 by Nishanth Chandran with the goal of changing the way Indians consume meat and seafood. Since then, the comapny has grown at a rate of 2X year over year, with a goal of 10X growth in the next 3–4 years. They  are a new-age tech-enabled company that provides clients with freshly cut meat and seafood through the local stores, which caters to both retail and new-age online customers. All of this is fueled by proprietary technology and a completely integrated supply chain.

TenderCuts employs around 1000 people across 40 locations in Chennai, Hyderabad, and Bangalore. In Chennai, the brand has established itself as a market leader, and it is also well-known in Hyderabad and Bangalore.

Consumers may visit our store to select from over 250 different cuts and 10 different meaty categories, or they can place an order on the app and have it delivered to their house in 90 minutes.
