- Telangana Vision 2047 will ensure that women are empowered and economically enabled
- It is aimed at employing 95 percent of women
- The discussion encompassed women's empowerment, economic development, and care and nutrition
The prime focus of the Telangana Vision Document-2047 is Women's Empowerment and Economic Development so that 95 percent of women get to work.
In a review Meeting held at the Praja Bhavan on Tuesday, Minister for Panchayat Raj, Dhanasri Anasuya (Seethakka), provided senior officials with various recommendations for planning for the Women's Empowerment, Economic Development and nutrition and care for women under the upcoming Vision 2027 planning stage.
During this review meeting, Dhanasri highlighted a number of important points related to Women's Welfare, Economic Development, and expansion of Women's Employment Opportunities.
She noted that the current percentage of women employed in Telangana is 52.7 percent, and that there should be a demand for raising this percentage to 95 percent by 2047.
According to Dhanasri, there must be an Action Plan focused on establishing a large number of employment and income opportunities for women, based on Women's Welfare and Nutrition. She believes that the Vision 2027 Plan should actively help women to diversify their Businesses with a strong emphasis on women being Successful Economically.
As an example, the Telangana government is already providing bus driver uniform stitching services to Groups of Women by giving these women sewing orders based on the number of uniforms ordered for each school. This program earns the state over ₹30 crore per year.
The direction by Dhanasri was for government officials to identify opportunities for women's organisations, particularly in relation to the uniforming of private schooling and hostels across the private sector.
Under its Vision 2047 goal, the state government is looking to increase the role of women as a driver for growing the economy by implementing initiatives that provide support to one crore (10 million) or more women to create economic stability, improve digital skills, create enterprise opportunities and provide access to global markets.
Some of the key initiatives that have been undertaken by the government to help girls to obtain an education are: scholarships; transport support; financial literacy training; the development of digital literacy; small business skills; creating awareness about gender equality and reducing child marriage; employment support; and creating quality crèches at the workplace.
According to Seethakka, empowering women across all sectors would contribute significantly to reaching Telangana's target of becoming a three-trillion-dollar economy by 2047.
