Telangana's WE HUB launches a rural incubator for women entrepreneurs

WE HUB, a dedicated incubator for female entrepreneurs, has established a new rural incubator programme. A total of 50 entrepreneurs from around the state will be enrolled in the first cohort.
The year-long initiative aims to boost small and medium businesses while also boosting the local supply chain.
The Telangana government's WE HUB has issued a call for applications for its rural incubation programme.
“The incubator will select women entrepreneurs from five sectors -- manufacturing, textiles and handlooms, FMCG, food processing and handicrafts,” Deepthi Ravula, Chief Executive Officer of WE HUB, has said.
“The programme aims to develop and establish ‘model MSMEs’ led by women entrepreneurs in the State. This will help us showcase and create a model which can be replicated by various government agencies,” she said.
Applications must be submitted by March 15 to be considered. A pitching session would be used to select candidates for the cohort. The incubator will begin operations on April 1, 2022.
“Through our Rural Incubation Programme, we wish to scale enterprises right from the ideation stage to SMEs in tier-ii and tier-ii cities,” she said. In the last four years, WE HUB has aided around 850 female entrepreneurs.
WE HUB is the first and only government-run platform for women entrepreneurs to launch, scale, and gain global market access. On March 8, 2018, International Women's Day, WE HUB was formally launched. We have created an eco-system that supports existing and aspiring women entrepreneurs by allowing them to interact with venture capitalists for funding, connect with corporations for scaling up their businesses, receive advice from mentors to fine-tune their ideas, and march forward on the path to success with renewed confidence through our primary activity. Seed money, mentoring, virtual programmes, business counselling, and government liaison are some of the services we offer to help women start their own business. We provide our services at affordable charges, and in certain circumstances for no cost at all, because we are a state-led project.
