- Women contribute up to 40% of GDP in developed countries, but less than 20% in India
- Telangana is trying to reduce this gap
- The state seeks to become a global model for women-led development
The Telangana government is working towards women's economic participation, as described by Seethakka. Women's economic participation is less in developing countries than in developed countries.
The government of Telangana is trying to develop a model for other countries to replicate to bridge this gap.
Seethakka also illustrated the importance of women participating in the economy by explaining how this will provide a foundation for further growth, sustainability, and independent economies. The government of Telangana has plans to take advantage of opportunities available for women to encourage them to move into the labour economy.
This will encourage industries and investors to explore their investments in Telangana because Women are leading the way in entrepreneurship.
Seethakka stated that the government aims to increase the Labour Force Participation Rate of Women in Telangana from 52 percent to 90 percent by 2047 as part of the Vision 2047 program.
The government will support women's economic transition by providing support through the establishment of daycare centres in villages, providing safe transportation for Women, providing low-interest loans to Women, establishing Women’s Cooperatives, launching Women's Online Marketplaces, and developing dedicated Industrial Clusters focused on Women.
The objectives of these initiatives are to increase the economic growth of Women. The Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025 illustrates how the Telangana Government is making these objectives a reality through the development and enhancement of Women-focused Innovation.
