Teenage Squash Star Anahat Singh wins 6th PSA Challenger Title 2024

16-year-old Anahat Singh, India's teenage squash sensation won her sixth PSA Challenger title of 2024 by winning the women's singles crown at the Costa North Coast Open in Coffs Harbour, Australia. Seeded third, she defeated sixth-seeded Akari Midorikawa of Japan 3-0 (11-6, 11-6, 11-7). Additionally, she defeated seventh-seeded Kirstie Wong in the semi-finals 3-1 (11-5, 7-11, 11-7, 11-9) defeating Bobo Lam and Helen Tang from Hong Kong.
Anahat has clinched bronze medals in the women's team and mixed doubles events at the Hangzhou Asian Games. She has also won titles in the JSW Willingdon Little Masters and Senior Tournament, Hamdard Squashters Northern Slam PSA Challenger, and HCL Squash Tour. Anahat was the youngest athlete to represent India at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and won two bronze medals at the Asian Games. She has won multiple PSA Challenger titles in 2024 and is currently ranked 96th in the women's world ranking. Anahat plays right-handed and uses a Dunlop Women's racket.
The Costa North Coast Open 2024 is a PSA Challenger squash tournament in Coffs Harbour, Australia, featuring local and international players started October 30, 2024, to November 3, 2024. The tournament has a strong representation from India, Japan, Hong Kong, and other countries. Both men's and women's categories will be offered $6,000 as prize money.
