India won the Match 7 of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium against arch-rivals Pakistan. Pakistan won the toss and batted first, scoring 105 for 8 wickets in 20 overs. India scored 108 runs for 4 wickets in 18.5 overs, winning by 6 wickets. Arundhati Reddy was named Player of the Match for her impressive bowling performance securing 3/19 in 4 overs. India's strong bowling attack and solid batting lineup contributed to their victory, boosting their confidence and allowing them to progress further in the tournament.
After a drastic loss against New Zealand, India needed this win to be on the track. Arundhati Reddy (3/19) and Shreyanka Patil (2/12) contributed to a balanced Indian lineup, keeping Pakistan tied in the first innings. Team India also maintained a steady batting effort to reach their target of 106. Sadia Iqbal caught Smriti Mandhana within the first six overs, but Shafali Verma and Jemimah Rodrigues built a solid base for India. Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah made the game safe, but Pakistan skipper Fatima Sana kept the game alive with two wickets in two balls. Harmanpreet was injured and retired from the game in between on 29* from 24 balls, but India won with seven balls to spare as Sajeevan Sajana delivered a boundary.
In the tournament, India and Pakistan placed in Group A and secured a 1-1 win and a 1-1 defeat respectively.
