TATA WPL 2024: Mumbai Indians thrash UP Warriorz by 42 Runs

Defending Champions, Mumbai Indians have regained their winning streak after defeating Delhi Capitals and UP Warriors in back-to-back matches in the TATA Women's Premier League 2024 at Arun Jaitely Stadium. MI secured a 160/6 victorious win after showcasing a competitive all-rounder performance with major run scorers, Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur with 33 off 30, Nat Sciver-Brunt with 45 off 31, Amelia Kerr with 39 off 23 and S Sajana with 22* off 14 while bowlers Shabnim Ismail and Saika Ishaque restricted UPW to 118/9 in 20 overs.
Mumbai Indians captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and elected to bat first. UPW started well, with Chamari Athapaththu dismissing openers Hayley Matthews and Yastika Bhatia. However, Grace Harris missed a catch, but Chamari managed to grab Yastika's wicket.
During the second innings, MI started strong, dismissing Kiran Navgire, Chamari Athapaththu, and Alyssa Healy. Saika Ishaque scored a powerful six, and MI maintained a stranglehold post-Powerplay. MI finished by grabbing 9 ultimate wickets of UPW at the end of 20 overs.
Nat Sciver-Brunt has been awarded Player of the Match for her outstanding performance in the Mumbai Indian's comeback win. Amelia Kerr receives Electric Striker of the Match for her strike rate of 169.57.
