Tata WPL 2023: Gujarat Giants won by 11 runs against Delhi Capitals

The Tata WPL 2023 Delhi Capitals vs Gujarat Giants: Team Gujarat Giants achieved their second win at the Tata Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023. They defeated Delhi Capitals by 11 runs and secured 4 points in the points table. Skipper Sneh Rana led the GG team to score 147 runs in a loss of 4 wickets.

A cracking encounter between the teams Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Giants was witnessed at the Brabourne Stadium, CCI on Thursday. Delhi Capitals won the toss and elected to field first against Gujarat Giants. Delhi gave a good start by grabbing the first wicket of Sophia Dunkley in the first over of the innings by Marizanne Kapp. She became the highest run scorer for Delhi Capitals who scored 36 off 29 balls but was run out by Ashwani Kumari. Players like Arundhati Reddy and Sikha Pandey also performed but Gujarat Giants made a tough fielding. They needed 148 to win but were bowled out for 136 runs in 18.4 overs.

Laura Wolvaardt scored the highest 57 runs in 45 balls along with another half-century from Ashleigh Gardner. The title ‘Player of the Match’ was achieved by Ashleigh for her outstanding 51 in 33 balls not out.
