In order to honor and promote women entrepreneurs in India, the renowned on-demand convenience platform in India, Swiggy has kick-started a wonderful project titled "She The Change: From Vision to Venture." The initiative was inaugurated by the Honorable Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs in the Government of India, Nirmala Sitharaman. She is a powerful delegate of the Indian Government and her presence underscores the significance this project carries.
Swiggy's program emphasizes the importance of food delivery platforms that encourage and advance women's entrepreneurship. Swiggy offers a platform for women-owned enterprises, that helps to advance and empower women entrepreneurs. The event launch witnessed renowned women entrepreneurs from India's Food & Beverage (F&B) industry. These female pioneers of the F&B industry are leaving their mark on emerging talents, conquering the barriers successfully, and starting their profitable businesses.
More than 50,000 women-owned restaurants operate on Swiggy's food delivery platform, creating almost 300,000 jobs overall. An average restaurant has six direct employees. The significance of women's involvement in the workforce is highlighted by this significant impact on employment. Swiggy's platform promoting women-led businesses, aligns with the Prime Minister's 'Nari Shakti' vision, empowering women entrepreneurs and inspiring others through their resilience, creativity, and determination in the F&B industry.
