Sushmita Sen Receives Champions Of Change Award

Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen, on Friday night, revealed that she was conferred with the prestigious National award titled 'Champions Of Change Award' for her contribution towards women empowerment and social welfare. The official social media account of the Miss Universe Pageant congratulated Sushmita Sen.
“Thank you @championsofchangeawards for this National Award for Social welfare & Women empowerment. I receive it on behalf of our Nation’s strongest backbone, WOMEN!!! Thank you for honouring us!!! Let’s continue to take small steps & big changes will follow!!! Love, Gratitude & Respect!”, Sushmita wrote on Instagram alongside a couple of photos.
She also spoke about what the award means for her on her Instagram page. "I know my father would be really, really proud as he served our nation as an officer of the Indian Air Force for many, many years.” She said.
The ‘Main Hoon Na’ actor, who has always been vocal about the social issues related to women in society also elaborated what she said in her acceptance speech, while virtually receiving the award “When our country recognizes women, they empower women. To be born a woman is a gift but to be at the service of women is a privilege. To get awarded for the same is a humbling experience,” she said. Sushmita also thanked her fans for their love. She wrote, “Your love is my greatest Award!.”
Recently she has also received “I Am Woman Awards”, “Mother Teresa Award”, “Filmfare OTT Awards” and many more.
Sushmita Sen, born in a Bengali family, is an Indian actress and model who has crowned Femina Miss India in 1994 and won Miss Universe 1994 at the age of 18. Sen is the first Indian to win the competition and has since primarily worked in Hindi Films.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Sushmita Sen made her comeback with the Indian Crime drama web television series ‘Aarya’ for which she had bagged the title ‘Best Actor in drama series’ by eminent entertainment award platforms like Filmfare, DadaSaheb Phalke, Film Critics Guild, Raj Kapoor Award. Currently, she is shooting for Season 2 of the web series ‘Aarya’.
