Stanford AI Index 2025 Shows Saudi Arabia leading in Women's AI Engagement

Saudi Arabia has reached a major world benchmark in artificial intelligence, as noted in Stanford University's AI Index Report 2025 by the Institute for Human-Centered AI. The Kingdom is the world leader in women's engagement in AI, according to the female-to-male ratio, and continues to make remarkable strides in AI job creation, luring top talent, and developing cutting-edge AI technologies. 

Saudi is leading the world in women's empowerment in AI, as indicated in the 2025 report, and it is a peak that points to the Kingdom's ambitious national plans and programs to increase female engagement and leadership in technology. It is a breakthrough that is in line with Saudi Vision 2030 goals and is backed by specific training initiatives and career growth programs that have enhanced the contribution of women to the AI industry. 

Moreover, Saudi was placed third in the world in terms of AI employment growth for 2024 and achieved fourth position for the highest number of advanced AI models built. The Kingdom stands out in the report as being among only seven countries—followed by the U.S., China, France, Canada, and South Korea—to be significantly contributing to developing innovative AI technology. 

Saudi is now the world's eighth destination for AI talent, highlighting its rising status as a center for innovation. With an active and supportable research and development climate, the Kingdom still has much to draw high-flying professionals towards its emerging AI ecosystem. 

These successes are the realization of Saudi Vision for the long term to become a world leader in AI with the direction of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA). Through advancing national capabilities, the development of future-oriented policies, facilitation of investment, and innovation-driving, SDAIA seeks to drive the relative position of the country vis-à-vis data and AI. One of the accomplishments in this pursuit is enhancing digital infrastructure and driving AI adoption in key sectors in accordance with Vision 2030 objectives. 

Regarding women's empowerment, SDAIA has launched various effective initiatives. Of particular mention is the "Elevate" program—initiated jointly with Google Cloud—intended to educate and empower over 25,000 women in technology and AI. SDAIA is also spending on training camps and capacity-enhancement programs that make Saudi women ready to assume leadership positions in AI, both domestically and internationally.
