SSB Women Win Big in Indian Women's League

SSB Women’s FC returned to winning ways with an exceptional 7-1 victory over Mata Rukmani FC in the Indian Women’s League at Capital Ground in Bhubaneswar. NaoremSumilaChanu scored a second-half hat-trick leading to a rousing success.
Having suffered a 0-2 defeat against defending champions Gokulam Kerala in their previous fixture, SSB Women team displayed some urgency as SandhyaKashyap gave the team a 13th minute lead.
NgangomAnibala Devi and Purnima Linda scored a goal each to make the score 3-0 at the break.
In the second half, Chanublazed ahead striking twice in two minutes before completing her hat-trick in the 74th minute.
In between, Sandhya struck her second goal in the 63rd minute while KiranPisda reduced the margin for the Chhattisgarh outfit Mata Rukmani who now have suffered three losses in a row.
The win has taken SSB to third spot behind Gokulam Kerala and Kickstart FC Karnataka who have three wins each.
In another match, ARA FC tasted their first success after three matches defeating Odisha police 3-1 in the second half.
Mohammed Fardin struck a second-half brace as Bengal moved into Santosh Trophy semi-finals with a 3-0 win over Rajasthan on Sunday. Needing a win to seal their last-four berth, Bengal finished second behind group A leaders and hosts Kerala.
