South Africa W smash Scotland W Team; Win with 80 Runs

Team South Africa marks its position on top of the points table in Group B of ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 defeating Scotland with a huge margin of 80 runs. The match occurred at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium where South Africa Women (SA-W) scored 166/5 in 20 overs, the highest total during the tournament. The team restricted Scotland Women (SCO-W) for 86 runs taking all wickets in 17.5 overs.
South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first. They made a fast start scoring 60 runs without losing any wickets during the powerplay. Scotland Women's team put in great effort with bowling with Rachel Slater, Kathryn Bryce, Olivia Bell, Katherine Fraser, and Darcey Carter each taking wickets of great batters of the South Africa team. However, they could not meet the target and lost their wickets drastically, showcasing their third consecutive loss in the tournament.
The 1st innings was a treat to watch as the South Africa team batted exceptionally. Laura Wolvaardt scored 40 hitting 5 fours and 1 six at an SR of 148.15 whereas her batting partner Tazmin Brits scored 43 runs at an SR of 122.86. Before the arrival of power player, Marizanne Kapp, the team smashed 89 runs in just 11 overs, and her arrival accelerated the game. Marizanne grabbed the 'Player of the Match' title for her beautiful knock of 43 runs in 24 balls hitting 6 fours at a strike rate of 179.17.
The second innings was a nightmare for the Scotland women's team as they miserably lost their all wickets. South Africa pacers left no space to take good runs with Ayabonga Khaka (1), Chole Tryon (2), Nonkululeko Mlaba (3), Nadine de Klerk (2), Sune Luus (1), Annetie Dercksen (1) taking wickets.
