Snapdeal signs agreement with FLO to assist Women led SMBs

Snapdeal, an e-commerce player, announced that it has signed an agreement with FICCI Ladies Organisations (FLO) and has launched an online programme to assist women-led small and medium businesses (SMBs) in the country in digitising and bringing their operations online. The year-long programme will be open to all FICCI women members, artisans, and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) affiliated with FICCI Flo Centres across its 17 regional centres in India.
Snapdeal will conduct online training, workshops, and induct them into online selling as part of the programme, it added. It will concentrate on knowledge sharing, assisting them in understanding the fundamentals of the e-commerce business, and familiarising them with related tools.
The programme will teach them how to create their own brands, as well as the fundamentals of selling online, such as cataloguing, writing product descriptions, inventory, and order management.
According to the statement, it will also focus on teaching digital marketing to help businesses grow and increase product reach to more customers. “At a time when the world is still dealing with a pandemic situation, the importance of online marketing has become clearer than ever.
FLO aims to economically empower women, and E-commerce can directly connect women to the market,” said FLO National President Ujjwala Singhania.
Singhania went on to say that FLO is working to facilitate the process of women empowerment by allowing them to join the digital bandwagon to promote their businesses, and that the partnership with Snapdeal is very significant in this regard.
“Pandemic-led disruption has accelerated the integration of digital interactions in our day-to-day lives. Today, online channels have become an integral part of all entrepreneurial blueprints and present a compelling opportunity to connect with a large number of potential buyers in the fastest and most direct way,” Snapdeal Senior Vice President Rajnish Wahi said.
