SingHealth Hosts Women's Wellness Awareness Event in Chennai

- This event was organized in partnership with the Singapore Club Chennai, Tamil Nadu Chapter
- The event included talks, interactive sessions, and networking
SingHealth, the largest public healthcare group in Singapore, collaborated with Singapore Club Chennai, Tamil Nadu Chapter, to host a healthcare awareness event, "Caring for Your Health," in Chennai.
On this occasion, doctors from Singapore made short presentations on topics related to preventive healthcare as well as women's wellness - coupled with discussions, hands-on and interactive sessions, and communication with colleagues and friends.
There was a large attendance both from the health professional community as well as from members of the general public who were interested to hear from experts in topics pertaining to health and wellness.
The event featured attendance from Mano Thangaraj, Minister for Milk & Dairy Development, Government of Tamil Nadu and Edgar Pang, Consul-General of Singapore.
Mano highlighted the long-standing relationship between Singapore and Tamil Nadu based on mutual interests, and joint research on topics around innovation, education and community well-being.
He further stated that such joint programmes are intended to culminate in advocacy for action for improved health results.
Edgar stated that healthcare is an area of significant cooperative engagement between Singapore and India and that these programmes are platforms to exchange medical knowledge and research, and develop research linkages between their communities.
Mano spoke of the deep relationship Singapore and Tamil Nadu enjoy based on mutual interests and research on innovation, education and community wellbeing.
He added that such collaborative programmes were conceptualized to bring about awareness for action for better health outcomes.
Mr Edgar explained that healthcare is one of the key areas of cooperation between Singapore and India, and such programmes help to build bridges of learning in medicine as well as connections between the two communities.
