Rolls-Royce, a renowned name in engineering and aerospace, has announced the launch of the fourth edition of its Unnati Scholarship Programme for women engineering students. The project seeks to close the gender gap in STEM by offering financial aid to deserving students from economically disadvantaged homes.
In collaboration with Buddy4Study and Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) India, Rolls-Royce is determined to increase female representation in the engineering sector by empowering talented women to pursue their educational aspirations. The Unnati Scholarship Programme is available to all women scholars enrolled in undergraduate engineering degree programs at any institution recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). This inclusive policy ensures that aspiring women engineers across the country have an opportunity to benefit from the scholarship.
Kishore Jayaraman, the President of Rolls-Royce India and South Asia, expressed the company's commitment to promoting STEM education, with a particular focus on encouraging the participation of women and girls in these fields. By investing in such initiatives, Rolls-Royce aims to not only enhance the STEM talent pool in India but also harness the potential of women to create sustainable solutions for the future. Jayaraman acknowledges that the Unnati Scholarship Programme will serve as a catalyst, uplifting the next generation of engineers, scientists, and innovators.
Starting from July 5, 2023, aspiring women engineers can submit their applications for the Unnati Scholarship Programme. This valuable opportunity is part of Rolls-Royce's broader Unnati initiatives, which encompass various programs targeting female students in middle school, high school, and undergraduate studies in STEM subjects. By providing scholarships and support, Rolls-Royce strives to nurture young women's talent, enabling them to pursue their educational dreams and contribute to the advancement of STEM fields.
Rolls-Royce has established itself as a leading advocate for STEM education and gender equality in the engineering industry. Through its Unnati Scholarship Programme and other initiatives, the company is making significant strides in empowering women and breaking down barriers. By offering financial assistance and educational opportunities, Rolls-Royce is paving the way for a more diverse and inclusive engineering workforce, where women can thrive and shape the future with their innovative ideas and contributions.
As the Unnati Scholarship Programme opens its doors to applications, Rolls-Royce reaffirms its dedication to supporting women engineers, fostering their growth, and creating a sustainable future driven by talent, diversity, and excellence.
