NTR District Collector G. Lakshmisha pointed out the importance of the Rural Incubation, Skilling, and Entrepreneurship Centre (RISE) in facilitating the conversion of the ideas of women entrepreneurs into a reality.
The officer explained to the media after inspecting the RISE Centre at Guntupalli Zilla Parishad, the first of its kind in the state set up by the NITI Aayog scheme of the Union Government, that the aim to train 5,000 women to establish entrepreneurship has already seen 1,000 women achieve the same successfully.
He further remembered that NITI Aayog sanctioned the first RISE centre in the state in NTR district in August 2022. Since then, entrepreneurship training for women has been provided through bodies such as the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub and other skill development bodies.
“Women are being trained in areas of skill development, marketing, finance, and using social media,” said the Collector.
In the RISE Centre, women are learning manufacturing of products, marketing, and how to raise their incomes. It also provides awareness of using government schemes, using loans that have a connection with banks, acquiring technical knowledge, and even using internet marketing.
Lakshmisha encouraged women to utilize this opportunity to the fullest so that they to grow as entrepreneurs and achieve economic independence.
