Priya Narayanan Joins Nokia India as Client CTO

India – Nokia has appointed Priya Narayanan as its Client Chief Technology Officer (CTO), enhancing its technology leadership as it expands engagement with communications service providers and continues to push the deployment of next-generation telecom networks in India.
Priya will assume a new strategic technology role to engage with customer CXO's, build multi-business group solution strategies for large communications service providers (CSPs), and spearhead innovation initiatives around 5G, 6G, non-terrestrial networks (NTN), cloud-native telco infrastructure, and AI-driven network transformation.
The appointment underscores Nokia's continued efforts to empower telecom companies to modernize network infrastructure and progress their digital transformation.
With a wealth of experience across the telecommunications industry, network planning and optimization, packet core technologies, mobile network architecture, digital transformation, and advanced connectivity, Priya has a broad range of experience in her chosen field. Throughout her career, she has gained extensive knowledge in defining future network strategies and providing comprehensive telecom solutions for global operators.

Before this role, she was Principal Consultant at Nokia Bell Labs working on cutting-edge technology projects and strategic consulting. In her previous position at Nokia she had held several leadership and technology roles such as Technology Expert - Global Delivery Centre, Technology Lead - Global Delivery Centre and Core NPO Expert where she specialized in network performance optimization, technology delivery and core network engineering.
Prior to joining Nokia, Narayanan held several leadership roles at Bharti Airtel, such as Operations Head – Core Networks, Lead – Data Projects, Core Operations, and IP and PaCo Planner to support large-scale Telecom Network Operations and Infrastructure Planning.
In her previous roles, she worked for Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) in Network Planning & Optimization, and Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise (ALC) as TEC Subject Matter Expert – Packet Core, Assistant Manager – Packet Core Expert for Reliance 2G & 3G Network, and Graduate Engineer, gaining a strong background in packet core technologies, mobile networks, and telecom engineering.
The appointment is on the heels of telecom operators around the globe making an increasing number of investments to address the demand for intelligent, secure and high-performance connectivity in the 5G Advanced era, in addition to the other trends listed above.
