As the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government completes 11 years in office and Prime Minister Narendra Modi marks the first year of his third term, the spotlight has turned to the government’s achievements in promoting women-led development. On the eve of this milestone, PM Modi emphasized the transformative impact of several key initiatives that have significantly improved the lives of women across India.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed the NDA's commitment to inclusive growth by highlighting flagship programs like PM Awas Yojana, Jan Dhan Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, Swachh Bharat, and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, all of which have been instrumental in empowering women on the social and economic fronts.
Women's health and dignity have improved as a result of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan's significant improvements in sanitation and hygiene. Millions of women have been able to open bank accounts thanks to the Jan Dhan Yojana, which has increased their economic independence and promoted financial inclusion.
Women in low-income households now have access to LPG connections thanks to the government's Ujjwala Yojana, which has reduced indoor air pollution and eased household duties. Affordable housing has been made available by PM Awas Yojana, and many of the properties are registered in women's names, guaranteeing asset ownership and security.
While Mudra Yojana has assisted numerous women entrepreneurs in starting their own small businesses, increasing financial empowerment and local economies, the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative has improved gender parity and female literacy.
In his speech, PM Modi underlined how these programs are changing the face of women in India and restated the government's ongoing dedication to their advancement. In addition to commemorating past successes, the anniversary declares the NDA's continued commitment to fostering a more just and inclusive society.
