Photovoltaics Company Trinasolar Adopts UN Women's Empowerment Principles

Chinese photovoltaics company, Trinasolar has reiterated its steadfast commitment to gender equality and women’s empowerment by signing the United Nations Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs).
Built on collaboration between UN Women and the UN Global Compact, the WEP principles aim to help global companies focus on empowering women in the workplace, marketplace, and the general community.
As a global WEP signatory, Trinasolar has aligned itself with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and will adopt them into its corporate strategy and operations.
The company complies with laws and regulations of the respective jurisdictions. It also follows the policies set by international human rights conventions and labor standards, such as the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
One third of seats on the company’s board of directors are held by women. Trinasolar also encourages gender equality and women’s empowerment by undertaking various initiatives such as hosting women’s leadership-sharing events.
Trinasolar also focuses on gender equality in its recruitment, promotion, and training processes. The company emphasizes on equal pay for equal work.
