PDI & Capco distributes 3.9 lakh Products to Marginalized Women in Trichy

People's Development Initiatives (PDI) and Wipro company, Capco have distributed 3.9 lakh worth of products and raw materials to 30 marginalized women in Trichy, aiming to empower them and improve their livelihoods. Over 50 per cent of the female beneficiaries belong to the families of sanitary workers in Trichy corporation. The initiative supports starting or sustaining small businesses, promoting financial independence, and improving their quality of life.
I Ambalavanan, Project Director of PDI mentioned, "The project's main objective is to make these women independent by streamlining their entrepreneurial ventures to generate substantial income." Lilly Grace, DSP, supports women in launching new business ventures with kits, sewing machines, grinding machines, carts and computer equipment, textiles, beauty, grocery outlets, and other types of equipment, urging positive attitude and self-confidence.
The initiative empowers women with resources to start or sustain small businesses, promoting financial independence and socio-economic improvement. It includes essential products and raw materials. Capco's partnership with PDI emphasizes corporate social responsibility's role in community development. The partnership aims to strengthen community support systems for women entrepreneurs, promoting sustainable development by creating jobs and increasing incomes.
Capco supports various charities through Corporate Matching, funding COVID-19 assistance programs and medical supplies during the pandemic. It also coordinates with employee-led fundraising initiatives.
