  • On March 8, PM Modi will hand over his social media accounts to women achievers to celebrate International Women's Day.
  • The women will share their challenges and experiences to inspire empowerment.
  • In 2020, Modi had previously handed over his accounts to seven women achievers to highlight their journeys.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hand over his social media platformsto honor the strength and resilience of the women achievers from various fields on International Women's Day. On March 8, chosen women will share their personal stories and challenges to promote women’s empowerment. In 2020, PM Modi had similarly given control of his social media accounts to seven women leaders, allowing them to inspire millions with their journeys of overcoming adversity.

In the 119th episode of his 'Mann Ki Baat' on Sunday, PM Modi said, "On March 8, women who have excelled in various fields, who have innovated and built unique identities for themselves, will share their work and experiences with the nation."

He also added, "While the platform may be mine, the focus will be on their experiences, challenges, and achievements. If you wish to be part of this initiative, join the special forum on the NamoApp and share your message with the world through my X and Instagram accounts."

Reflecting on the contribution of women in the freedom struggle and the framing of the Constitution, Modi mentioned the words of Hansa Mehta, one of the 15 women members of the Constituent Assembly. While presenting the national flag in the Assembly, Hansa had stated that, "It is fitting that the first flag to fly over this esteemed house should be a gift from the women of India," as shared in the audio clip played during MKB.
