  • Omega Seiki Mobility to introduce 2,500 specially designed pink auto rickshaws
  • Initiative to encourage women drivers in India
  • The cars will be provided at reduced prices to make them affordable

Omega Seiki Mobility announced on Thursday that it will distribute 2,500 specially-designed pink auto rickshaws to women drivers across India at reduced prices, as part of a phased rollout.

As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, Omega Seiki Mobility rolled out the program on Wednesday in the national capital for the benefit of 500 women drivers. They will also get a 1 percent interest subsidy on vehicle financing from a leading state-owned bank, the company added.

Omega Seiki Mobility has collaborated with Delhi-based non-profit group Nari Shakti to roll out the program. "This partnership with Nari Shakti goes beyond a typical CSR effort," said Uday Narang, Founder and Chairman of Omega Seiki Mobility. "By helping women take the driver’s seat—both literally and figuratively—we’re not just providing vehicles; we’re creating pathways to independence, dignity, and opportunity."

Omega Seiki Mobility said the programme will be shortly extended to Bangalore, North Karnataka, and Chennai in the near future. As part of the initiative, training in driving and financial literacy would be provided to all the shortlisted women so that safe operations and sustainable livelihoods are ensured.

"This project aligns with our mission to empower and uplift women at the grassroots level," said Naari Shakti Women Welfare Charitable Trust President Safiena Joseph. "Our collaboration with Omega Seiki Mobility is having tangible, real-world impact—empowering women to earn their livelihood while ensuring a cleaner, greener planet".
