Ola Electric Scooter to employ 10,000 Women

At full capacity, the Ola Futurefactory, which manufactures the recently announced Ola electric scooters, would employ 10,000 women.

The Ola Futurefactory, which houses Ola scooter and is the world's largest e-scooter factory, will be 100% controlled by women. In a post announcing the decision on Monday, Ola Electric CEO Bhavish Aggarwal remarked, "An Aatmanirbhar Bharat requires Aatmanirbhar women."

The first group of women-only employees arrived in Chennai, bursting with excitement to help Ola achieve its goal of driving the EV revolution. Their first responsibility will be to prepare Ola's electric scooters, the S1 and S1 Pro, for delivery.

“This is the first in a series of initiatives we are undertaking at Ola to create a more inclusive workforce and provide economic opportunities for women across the board," Aggarwal said.

“Enabling women with economic opportunities improves not just their lives but that of their families and indeed the whole community. In fact, studies show that just providing women parity in the labor workforce can grow India’s GDP by 27 per cent," the Ola Electric CEO said on the macroeconomic prospects of the move.

Ola Electric's Futurefactory has several notable ambitions in addition to a very distinctive workforce.

When fully operational, the Ola Futurefactory will employ over 10,000 women, who will work alongside over 3,000 AI-driven robots.

Ola Futurefactory will be the world's largest and only women-only factory, as well as the world's only all-women car production plant.

Ola Electric CEO Bhavish Aggarwal stated that the company has invested heavily in training and upskilling its all-female staff in fundamental manufacturing skills, and that they will be responsible for the full production of every car produced at the Ola Futurefactory.
