New Women Help Desk Installs at Kulgam Police Station

The Police have established a Women Help Desk at Police Station Kulgam to assist women in crisis.

The Women Help Desk was launched by SSP Kulgam, Dr. G.V Sundeep Chakravarthy, who was the special guest for the event. He was accompanied by officers from the District, including DySP Hqrs Kulgam, DySP DAR, SHO PS Kulgam, and others.

The help desk's goal is to react to all such calls from women who have been victims of domestic abuse.

Due to the increasing number of incidences of domestic violence resulting from conflicts between married couples in the valley, particularly in the district of Kulgam, an instant redressal process is required.

Speaking on the occasion, SSP stated that the well-designed Women Help Desk will aid in the protection of the rights of women and girls in the district, and expressed hope that the Women Help Desk will cater to the needs of women who face violence and encourage women to file complaints without hesitation, particularly in cases involving heinous crimes.

SSP also talked with the officers and instructed them to work with passion, preserve professional integrity, and do their utmost to resolve the concerns brought to PS.
