Nepali Entrepreneur Prakriti Mainali Receives Priyadarshani Award from Indian Govt.

Prakriti Mainali, a Nepali entrepreneur, has received a prestigious award from the government of India and the Federation of Indian Women Entrepreneurs.

At a ceremony in New Delhi, India, Mainali was honoured with the renowned Priyadarshani: Made a Difference Award – 2022. Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Narayan Tatya Rane of India presented her with the award.

Mainali, the founder of Shakti Milan, a company that upcycles used rice sacks into bags for export, was reportedly recognised for her efforts in promoting women's entrepreneurship culture in Nepal, particularly among disadvantaged women communities, for their freedom from fear of abuse and violence through economic opportunities.

Prakriti Mainali was also honoured by the Nepal government with the National Youth Talent Award 2021. She is also a board member of the Social Entrepreneurship Fund, which is part of Nepal's Ministry of Women, Children, and Senior Citizens.
