Hockey Madhya Pradesh and Hockey Mizoram registering victories in the latest action-packed games played at the 13th Hockey India Junior Women National Championship 2023 being played at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela, Odisha.
The first match of the day saw Hockey MP defeat Hockey Karnataka 7-1. Captain Yogita Verma (9’) scored the first goal for her team which was followed by Bhumiksha Singh (27’, 59’), Jyoti Singh (45’), Soniya Kumre (46’), Gurmail Kaur (48’), and Sonam (56’) scoring followup goals. Hockey Karnataka’s lone goal was scored by Yamuna (10’).
The second match of the day saw Hockey Mizoram win over Hockey Chandigarh 6-0. Brace was scored by Lal Tlanchhungi (9’, 51’), Lalrinpuii (44’, 60’), and Vanlalhriatpuii (54’, 59’) for Hockey Mizoram securing them three points.
On Saturday Hockey Haryana won over Telangana Hockey 24-0. In the next match of the day Hockey Rajasthan recorded a 4-4 draw against Assam Hockey.
Saturday’s last match was played between Hockey Tamil Nadu and Manipur Hockey which also ended in a 3-3 draw.
