More Indian Women are making a Career out of Gaming

Right now in India, playing video games is a fantastic pastime. not just to have fun, but also to make money off of them. The HP India Gaming Landscape Study 2022, which polled more than 2000 people in 14 Indian cities, confirms this.

It emphasised the renewed optimism among gamers who believe that gaming offers good earning potential in addition to a variety of job options.

The study found that about two-thirds of serious gamers expressed a willingness to consider a full- or part-time profession in gaming. The potential for their hobby to turn into a career is another important factor influencing gamers' decision to play games. Gaming is also seen as a means of socialising (52%), relaxation (92%), and mental agility improvement.

Following are a few general conclusions from the HP India Gaming Landscape Study 2022:

1) The number of female gamers in India is growing. Women gamers are interested in pursuing careers in gaming, turning their pastime into a vocation (50%) and offering strong earning opportunities (45%), which is an exciting trend to watch.

2) Only 2% of responders, according to the report, had formal gaming training.

While the majority of gamers improve their own skills to improve their gaming performance, 32% choose to follow a gaming celebrity to do so.

3) Up to 55% of the gamers polled take gaming seriously and spend time participating in online group matches or tournaments for glory.

4) The respondents indicated that 68% of gamers prefer to play on a PC since it provides a superior high-end gaming experience, while 39% of mobile gamers are open to switching to a full-fledged gaming PC in the near future.

Vickram Bedi, Senior Director of Personal Systems for HP India Market, stated at the report's launch: "As the gaming industry in India evolves, it is promising to see gaming being considered as a career option. The PC gaming landscape in India offers a tremendous opportunity for the youth and we, at HP, are committed to supporting gamers in their journey by providing knowledge, tools, and opportunities to upskill and help them become better at their game through OMEN community initiatives."
