Ministry of Women and Child Development is accepting online applications for the Nari Shakti Puraskar 2021

According to a press release issued on Thursday, the Ministry of Women and Child Development has invited nominations for the Nari Shakti Puraskar 2021, which will recognise outstanding work in the fields of economic and social empowerment of women.
According to a release issued by the Ministry of Women and Child Development , applications or nominations will be accepted only through online mode and may be filed at the portal www.awards.gov.in. All nominations received up to January 31, 2022, will be considered for Nari Shakti Puruskar for the year 2021.
The Ministry of Women and Child Development will award the Nari Shakti Puraskar-2021 on International Women's Day, March 8, 2022.
"Guidelines for Nari Shakti Puraskar eligibility criteria and other details may be found at https://wcd.nic.in/acts/guidelines-nari-shakti-puraskar-2021-onwards," it added.
Every year, the Ministry of Women and Child Development awards the Nari Shakti Puraskar to individuals and institutions for their contributions to women's empowerment, particularly for vulnerable and marginalised women.
The award comes with a certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 2 lakh every awardee, according to the press release. Individuals and institutions are eligible to apply, and a total of 15 awards (individual and institutional) may be given out.
Any relaxation of the maximum number may be allowed at the discretion of the selection committee, which is chaired by the Minister of Women and Child Development, according to the statement.
