Microsoft Appoints Aparajita Puri as India & South Asia MD

- Microsoft has appointed Aparajita Puri as Managing Director for India & South Asia
- She will be responsible for strategy and leadership in the region
- Her responsibilities will include collaborating with businesses on large-scale projects
Aparajita Puri has been appointed by Microsoft as the company’s Managing Director for India & South Asia. She will be leading the strategic pursuit’s team at Microsoft, focusing on large-scale enterprise projects related to AI, data, and cloud adoption.
Aparajita has previously worked at McKinsey & Company for 11 years, where she was last working as a partner. She has worked with clients in the global markets, focusing on strategy and business transformation. She has held several leadership roles during her tenure at McKinsey & Company.
She started her career at Bain & Company and then moved on to work at Deutsche Bank. Aparajita’s appointment by Microsoft is seen as an attempt by the company to strengthen its engagement with enterprises in India & South Asia, where technology adoption is growing at a rapid pace.
Aparajita mentioned in her LinkedIn post that, “After an incredibly rewarding journey at McKinsey & Company, I'm excited to begin a new chapter at Microsoft”.
Over the last decade and more (time flew by!), I've had the privilege of working with some of the most inspiring global client leaders, colleagues and friends across different countries and cultures. It's been truly special to have been part of so many meaningful journeys and to see the Firm create lasting impact. Eternally grateful for the mentorships, friendships and learning that McKinsey gifted me!
I'm now stepping into a new role at Microsoft as Managing Director, India & South Asia to lead the Strategic Pursuits Team – partnering with leading enterprises on some of the largest and most transformative opportunities, especially as AI, Data and accelerated cloud adoption reshape industries. Inspired by the vision and direction set by Lloyd Adams, Mark Leigh and Puneet Chandok!
