Melinda Gates resigns from Gates Foundation

Melinda French Gates, well-known philanthropist and co-founder of Gates Foundation to resign from the foundation and start on her journey towards focusing on gender equality and women’s rights. The announcement was made on May 13, 2024.
Melinda Gates and her ex-husband, Bill Gates established the foundation in the 2000 and she committed herself for the upliftment of the needy through the foundation since then. She has always been known for being a philanthropist and now when she is resigning from the firm. Her entire focus will be on the women empowerment. June 7, 2024, will be her last day at the foundation.
She posted on her X, saying, “After careful thought and reflection, I have decided to resign from my role as co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.” She said that the foundation is in a strong state and this would be the best time for her to move further with her own journey.
Because of her exit, Melinda shall get a total resource of $12.5 billion in order to direct toward her philanthropic work. She said that the money will be used “to commit to my work on behalf of women and families.”
