- Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited (MLMML) launched the Mahindra WE (Women Entrepreneurs) Hunnar program
- The initiative is dedicated to empowering women within the mobility sector
Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited (MLMML) also initiated the Mahindra WE (Women Entrepreneurs) Hunnar programme in July 2024 as part of its women empowerment in the mobility business. As part of this initiative, MLMML has helped empower trained women beneficiaries to receive their three- and four-wheeler licenses.
245 women were trained in three courses: customer care executive, 3W/4W driving, and EV repair & maintenance. This pioneering program has empowered 52 women to drive three-wheelers and four-wheelers and enabled them to earn sustainable livelihoods and achieve financial independence. MLMML also assisted the licensing process and, through collaboration with financial institutions, gave loan options to support these women.
This program has also provided 185 women with customer care executive capabilities and trained eight women in repair and maintenance of EVs. They were trained practically on electric three-wheelers, basic knowledge of EV, and financial information. Most of these women are already employed, providing them with long-term job opportunities.
Suman Mishra, MD & CEO at Mahindra Last Mile Mobility, said, "The Mahindra WE (Women Entrepreneurs) Hunnar programme reflects our commitment to enabling equal access to mobility and livelihood. Through the empowerment of women through entrepreneurship and skill development, we are creating a more inclusive and sustainable tomorrow."
The Mahindra WE Hunnar project was first started as a pilot project in Bengaluru. Because of its success, MLMML intends to roll it out to other cities, advancing the company's mission of inclusivity and bringing about positive change through its CSR initiative. Lok Bharti Education Society was the training partner of this project.
