Madhya Pradesh CM Empowers Women: Toll-Tax Operations & Laadli Behna Yojana Enhanced
By: WE Staff | Monday, 17 July 2023
Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, has made great efforts to improve the status of women in the state. He recently announced that the operations of toll tax points in MP, generating up to Rs 2 crore in annual revenue, will now be handed over to women. This move aims to provide women with economic opportunities and promote their active participation in revenue-generating activities.
In addition, Chief Minister Chouhan has increased the amount under the Laadli Behna Yojana from Rs 1000 to Rs 3000. The Laadli Behna Scheme is a life-changing initiative that not only provides financial assistance but also aims to uplift women by giving them respect, self-confidence, and honor. By enhancing the financial support provided through this scheme, the government seeks to further empower women and improve their quality of life.
During an interaction with women, youth, farmers, and the public at the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee ground in Ashta, CM Chouhan expressed his vision to increase women's income in Madhya Pradesh to Rs 10,000 per month. He plans to achieve this goal by promoting self-help groups and turning them into a powerful movement. Self-help groups have proven to be effective in enhancing women's economic independence and fostering entrepreneurship.
To strengthen the education sector, the Chief Minister also announced the establishment of three CM Rise schools in Ashta. These schools will provide quality education and contribute to the overall development of the region. Additionally, CM Chouhan allocated over Rs five crore for various construction and development projects in the area, emphasizing the government's commitment to uplifting the infrastructure and living standards of the community.
The initiatives taken by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan highlight the state government's dedication to women's empowerment and socioeconomic progress. By involving women in toll tax operations, increasing financial support through the Laadli Behna Yojana, and promoting self-help groups, Madhya Pradesh aims to create a conducive environment for women to thrive, achieve financial independence, and contribute to the state's growth. The establishment of CM Rise schools and investments in infrastructure further demonstrates the government's commitment to education and overall development.
