Lifestyle & Beauty Brand Ready Set Jet raises 50 lakhs from Encubay Angel Network

Encubay Angel Network, a network of angel investors, aspiring investors, and entrepreneurs, has invested 50 lakhs in Ready Set Jet, a global lifestyle and beauty brand dedicated to empowering women worldwide.

Only one percent of India's 10,000+ angel investors are women. This is due to a lack of awareness rather than a lack of intent. The Encubay Angel Network, in keeping with its ethos of driving diversity in the start-up ecosystem, brings together women-led founders, founders building products for women, and individuals interested in investing in diverse start-ups with a strong emphasis on encouraging first-time investors.

Commenting on this, Deeksha Ahuja, Founder, Encubay, says, “Encubay has always looked at creating diversity in the most innovative way to level the playing field for women founders. Forming the Encubay Angel network to get more women to start investing as angels have been no exception. The network’s debut investment in Ready Set Jet Is an example of how diversity can create exponential value in the startup ecosystem. We are bullish on inclusive beauty and of course, Shalini’s grit makes for the kind of women founders we are inclined to back with capital, mentorship, and sisterhood of some amazing women!”

Encubay Angel Network is a strategic partner of Ready Set Jet in India, and this investment, in addition to ongoing support and introductions, aims to encourage both companies' common goal of creating a sustainable ecosystem through diversity in people, profit, and building for the planet.

Shalini Vadhera, Founder, Ready Set Jet, says, “It has been an absolute pleasure working with Deeksha Ahuja and the Encubay Team. From strategically bringing us best-in-class angel investors to the incredible work ethic and passion for women lead companies, Deeksha and her team have gone above and beyond and continue to be a strong ally for the Ready Set Jet brand and mission. Working with the Encubay Angel Network has been a game changer for our business. We look forward to continuing a very successful partnership.”

“Ready Set Jet,as the name suggests, embodies all the ingredients for a company to soar high. An entrepreneur who not only has the credentials, vision, courage & confidence but also the unique ability to think global & act local. Shalini understands not only her products but the pulse of the Indian & global markets. The cosmetics industry in India is pegged to grow at 25% CAGR and touch 20 billion by 2025 and Ready Set Jet products and strategy is well placed to gain market share,” says, Aarti Sinha, Director Account Management, Mastercard India Services Private Limited.

In addition to the founders of Encubay, Deeksha Ahuja - Founder at Encubay, and Eashita Maheshwary - Co-founder at  Encubay, Encubay Angel Network has onboard Anisha Patnaik - Founder at Lexstart, Jayaroopa Jeyabarathi - Co-founder at Women In Investing Network and Ankita Vashistha  - Founder at Saha Fund and StrongHer Capital as co-founders to form the core team of the angel network.

Sushma Kaushik, Partner at Aavishkar, Ritu David, Founder of The Data Duck and Alumbloom, Aarti Sinha, Director, Mastercard India, and Nathasha AR Kumar, Co-founder and CVO, Asort & Vajor, were early adopters who helped us close our first deal with Ready Set Jet, founded by third-time entrepreneur Shalini Vadhera.
