Ladies Who Lead (LWL), a members-only platform aiming to advance women in leadership, has raised $1 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by Nithin Kamath's Rainmatter and Jayant Davar's Family Office. LWL, co-founded by former journalists Aabha Bakaya and Aditya Ghosh, aims to empower women professionals and leaders by providing resources, mentorship, and support to overcome traditional barriers. The funding will enable LWL to expand its operations across India and reach a wider audience.
CEO Aabha Bakaya mentions, "I believe that women should own their destiny - empowered to choose, shape, and grow in a way that is fulfilling for them. We have meticulously designed our offerings to enable women to forge strong connections and build essential relationships that contribute to their personal and professional growth." She added, "As our movement grows, more women in various fields will lead, and our collective influence will empower us to co-create the future. We see this funding from Rainmatter as a strong endorsement of our vision, and we are incredibly proud to have them as our partners on this journey."
LWL, a startup, aims to increase women's representation in management roles in India by 2047. With over 1,200 members across several industries, the platform provides personalized engagement and tailored experiences to help women navigate professional hurdles. The platform aims to create a collaborative ecosystem where women can thrive and lead, crucial for India's ambitious GDP target.
