Kutchina Foundation Celebrates 10 Years of Empowering Women Changemakers Across India

- The occasion commemorated the foundation's path in empowering women-led change
Kolkata NGO, Kutchina Foundation marked the completion of ten years with the program 'Decades of Development: 10 Years of Empowering Women', held at Offbeat Kolkata. Policymakers, grassroots associates, and social reformers came together for the grand celebration of 10 years of efforts for women's empowerment by the foundation.
The guests of honor at this event included Dr. Andrew Fleming, British Deputy High Commissioner to Kolkata; Hugh Boylan, Consul General of Australia, Kolkata; and Sudeshna Roy, Film Director and Adviser to the WB Commission for Child Rights; various other notables. Alokananda Roy, the Buckets Social Reformer and Artist, Namit Bajoria, Managing Director, Kutchina, Nita Bajoria, Creative Director at Kutchina.
The star of the evening was the honoring of 26 Krittika Fellows – grassroots women leaders from 10 states – who have been at the forefront of creating change in the areas of gender rights, climate resilience, education, livelihood generation, and social justice. These changemakers together have impacted over 100,000 marginalized girls and women, covering ground from the tribal pockets of Odisha and Jharkhand to the red-light areas of Kolkata and the tea gardens of Assam.
Speaking to the media, Namit Bajoria, Founder & Managing Trustee of Kutchina Foundation, stated, "Our commitment to empowering women is more than just words; it’s a promise that motivates us to transform communities and break barriers. Looking ahead, we envision a future where every woman is a symbol of hope and change. Over the last 10 years, our Krittika Fellows have become true agents of transformation, making a real impact in some of the most vulnerable communities. As we celebrate this milestone, we continue to strengthen our support for women changemakers across India."
The event showcased several key moments, including the screening of a special documentary highlighting the decade-long impact of the Kutchina Foundation, and the recognition of 26 Krittika Fellows for their significant contributions to social change.
