The program, named the ‘Empowering Champions of Change’, is managed by Apraava Smart Meter Private Limited which is the subsidiary of Apraava Energy and it has been conceptualized to celebrate and empower women community leaders who are involved in grassroots initiatives that are bringing about the desired transformation.

Women leaders who are all illustrious in their rights come from the eight districts of Assam, which are Bongaigaon, Chirang, Dhubri, Goalpara, Golaghat, Jorhat, Kokrajhar, and South Salmara Mankachar. Their work is very broad, ranging from combating home-based violence to the provision of employment opportunities, going to school anew, adult literacy promotion, and addressing other issues that are affecting society.

Through this initiative, the women will undergo specialized training to develop their leadership skills even further so that they can take the lead on district-level committees on anti-economic disparities projects.
