Kashmir to host 3rd Khelo India Women's Judo Tournament

The third edition of the Khelo India North Zone Women's Judo League and Ranking Tournament will be held in Kashmir as a part of the partnership between the Judo Federation of India and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (SAI).
The event will be organized at Srinagar's Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium from 18 January 2024. This will majorly highlight the skills of aspiring Judo enthusiasts.
The event will draw more than 500 female participants from all over North India which has four divisions: Sub Junior, Cadet Junior, and Senior.
An official stated that this event aims to provide a significant platform yo these young athletes to showcase their skills and determination beyond the thrill of competition. The J&K Association released a statement that the winners will be awarded cash prizes along with the medals. The gold medalists will be provided with Rs 10,000 cash while the silver and bronze medalists will receive Rs 7,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively.
Gowar Khan, Hamid Khan, and Kabra Altaf, the first female Judo coach in Jammu & Kashmir are instrumental in promoting Judo talent and empowering young women in the region.
Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium prepares to host a thrilling competition, showcasing the skill of young athletes and the inclusivity and collaborative spirit that sports inspire. The 3rd Khelo India North Zone Women's Judo League and Ranking Tournament will showcase skill, determination, camaraderie, and the indomitable spirit of women in sports.
