JKEDI Begins 4th ESDP Batch at Govt Women ITI Jammu

The Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI)-District Centre Jammu on Wednesday started the 4th batch of the Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Programme (ESDP) at Government Women ITI, Jammu to promote self-employment among women in the region.
The 1st session was attended by a group of 32 women entrepreneurs who registered and participated in the session, indicating the rising aspirations of women entrepreneurs for entrepreneurship and self-employment in the region.
The programme was jointly inaugurated by Er. Rajesh Gupta and Rajesh Kotwal in the presence of Abhilash Braroo, faculty members and participants.
The officials, addressing the participants, highlighted the significance of entrepreneurship as a sustainable and empowering career option for women. They enabled the trainees to fully utilise the training, mentoring and support arrangements which are being offered within the programme.
The Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Programme aims to provide aspiring entrepreneurs with the necessary entrepreneurial skills and knowledge to help them start and run successful businesses.

The training comprises business opportunity identification, preparation of project report, financial literacy, credit linkages, awareness of government schemes, marketing strategies, handling digital tools and legal compliances. The programme also offers access to financial institutions and incubation support to enable participants to convert their business ideas into reality.
Under the vision of building a strong entrepreneurship ecosystem and fostering enterprise growth and sustainable employment opportunities, JKEDI is continuing to run Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Programmes in different districts in Jammu & Kashmir.
The ongoing batch is expected to further strengthen women-led micro and small enterprises by equipping participants with practical, market-oriented skills and confidence to operate independently. Officials also emphasized the importance of mentorship support beyond classroom training to ensure long-term business sustainability.
Participants will be encouraged to develop viable business plans tailored to local market demand, enabling better income generation and community-level economic impact. The initiative is also expected to improve financial inclusion by connecting trainees with banking institutions and credit facilities.
By promoting innovation, self-reliance and local enterprise development, the programme aims to create a ripple effect of employment generation, particularly in semi-urban and rural areas, thereby contributing to inclusive regional economic growth.
