The Indian women’s hockey team is all set for its next tour to Australia. Team India will play a five-match series in Australia as part of the prep for the upcoming Hangzhou Asian Games.
The Indian women’s team’s tour will begin on May 18 and end on May 27. Team India will play against the Australian national team in the first three games of the series. These matches will be followed by two matches against Australia A.
All the matches will take place at MATE Stadium in Adelaide.
The Australian hockey team sits at the World number 3 position in the hockey charts while India ranks number eight currently.
The Australia tour will serve as preparation for the upcoming Asian games which are slated to be held in September-October this year.
While speaking to the media, the Indian women’s hockey team coach Janneke Schopman also stressed on the importance of the Australia tour for the team’s preparations.
