Indian Trio Wins Gold in Women's 10m air rifle at Baku ISSF World Cup

Indian air rifle teambegan their winning streak at the ongoing ISSF World Cup withElavenilValarivan, Ramita and Shreya Agrawal clinching the gold medal in the women's 10m air rifle team competition. ISSF World Cup is currently being held in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The Indian trio won the top spot by beating the Denmark team which is represented by Anna Nielsen, Emma Koch and RikkeMaeng Ibsen, 17-5 in the gold medal contest. The bronze medal was won by Poland.
Elavenilwho is also former world No 1, along with Ramita, and Shreya had reached the gold medal clash after two rounds of qualification held on Monday. With a combined effort of 944.4 over 90 shots, the Indian team first topped qualification stage among 17 competing teams. India then won the second spot behind Denmark in stage two to enter the title round. The trio shot 628.6 to Denmark's 629.2 after all three team members shot 20-shots each.
In the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team event, the pairing of Shreya and Rudrankksh and Elavenil and Paarth, did not win big. While Shreya and Rudrankkshfinished 14th in qualification with a score of 625.6 Elavenil and Paarthshot 623.5 to finish at the 24th spot.
The Indian team is currently on the fifth spot in the medals tally. Serbia is currently leading the list with two golds and a total of four medals in its kitty.
