Indian Athletes Win 16 Medals at 2023 Asian Para Games

Indian athletes are showcasing their extraordinary skills at the 2023 Asian Para Games, accumulating a remarkable 16 medals on the second day of competition. These achievements add to the impressive haul of 18 medals, including six golds, six silvers, and six bronzes, from the opening day, bringing India's total medal count to an outstanding 34 in just two days.

The second day of competition was highlighted by Prachi Yadav's historic victory in para-canoe, making her the first Indian athlete to claim a gold medal in this category. She displayed exceptional prowess, cementing her name in the annals of Indian sports history.

The Men's Discus Throw F54/55/56 Final showcased India's track and field dominance, with Neeraj Yadav securing gold and setting an Asian Para Games record with a tremendous throw of 38.56 meters. Joining him on the podium, Yogesh Kathuniya captured silver, and Muthuraja clinched the bronze with a remarkable throw of 35.06 meters.

In another stellar performance, Deepti Jeevanji shattered records in the Women's 400m-T20 Final, achieving gold with a new Asian Para Games record time of 56.69 seconds.

Prachi Yadav continued her remarkable journey by claiming her second gold in the Women's KL2 Final for para-canoe, displaying exceptional talent and dedication.

The shooting events witnessed Rudransh Khandelwal securing a silver medal in the Men's 10m Air Pistol SH1 competition. Adding to India's glory, Manish Narwal earned a bronze medal, resulting in a double podium finish for the Indian shooting contingent.

Rubina Francis showcased her shooting prowess by winning a bronze medal in the P2 - Women's 10m Air Pistol SH1 Final. Her impeccable performance demonstrated India's strength in the shooting discipline.

Renuka Narayan Salave represented India in the Women's 70 kg J1 category, finishing fifth overall, while Gulshan participated in the Men's 57 kg J2 category, ultimately securing a fifth-place finish in Judo.

Indian athletes also excelled in sports like archery, badminton, and table tennis, advancing to the medal rounds in various categories. Their remarkable performances symbolize India's all-around sporting excellence.

Additionally, the Indian blind football team delivered a stellar performance by defeating Malaysia 1-0. This victory demonstrated their commitment and determination on the field.

The athletics competitions brought more success for India as Pramod secured silver and Rakesh Bhaira claimed bronze in the Men's 1500m-T46 Final. In the Men's Shot Put F40 Final, Ravi Rongali won silver, while Ajay Kumar clinched silver in the Men's 400m T64 Final. Simran added to India's medal tally with a silver in the Women's 100m-T12 Final, while Ekta Bhyan won bronze in the Women's Club Throw-F32/51 Final.
