
India to Host Inaugural Women's T20 Cricket World Cup for the Blind Announces CABI

- Participating delegates came from 23 states and Union Territories, demonstrating commitment and representation across the country
At the state-of-the-art Samarthanam Art Centre, Bengaluru, the India Cricket Association for the Blind (CABI) successfully held its 15th Annual General Body Meeting (AGM). A day of serious talks, strategic planning, and a shared vision for the future of blind cricket in India was attended by representatives from 23 states and Union Territories.
The inaugural Women's T20 Cricket World Cup for the Blind, which will take place in India from November 5 to November 25, 2025, was one of the highlights of this year's AGM. The tournament, which is a historic first in inclusive sports and features teams from six countries, will showcase skills, resiliency, and international solidarity.
The AGM had focused discussions on important tournament topics like national team selection, outreach, sponsorship mobilization, and logistics. In order to increase women's participation in Blind Cricket across the country, delegates also emphasized the necessity of expanding grassroots initiatives.
"This World Cup is not just a sporting event—it's a movement," said Mahantesh G.K., CABI Chairman and Founding Trustee of Samarthanam, during the event. Its dispelling myths, motivating future generations, and providing visually impaired female cricket players with equal opportunities.
The occasion was also used by CABI to acknowledge the crucial assistance provided by state associations, sponsors, volunteers, and the global Blind Cricket community, all of which were essential to the accomplishment of this momentous competition.
As the November deadline draws near, CABI reaffirmed its dedication to providing a well-run, inclusive, and globally recognized Women's Blind Cricket World Cup.
