Following the success of the first match against Malaysia 4-0, team India women consecutively secured another victory over South Korea 3-2 in the Women's Asian Champions Trophy on Tuesday at the Rajgir Hockey Stadium in Bihar. India positioned at the second rank on the Asian Champions Trophy points table and ninth in the hockey rankings has showcased brilliant performance on home soil.

Forward players Sangita Kumari (3') and Deepika (20', 57') played crucial knocks to secure the game. However, in order to equalize the game, team South Korea made a comeback during the third quarter with Yuri Lee (34') and Eunbi Cheon (37') but team India's attackers showcased aggressive gameplay and restricted their opponents. Sangita Kumari's reverse hit found the back of the net ensuring a 1-0. Team India doubled the lead after Deepika hit the ball to the goal with the help of Beauty Dungdung.

India's forward player Beauty Dungdung and Captain Salima Tete created a chance in the first half, but the Korean defense was strong. South Korea re-engaged in the second half but missed a deflection and scored their first penalty corner in the fourth minute.

South Korea scored a goal after a defensive mistake by Vaishnavi, and India's yellow card suspension for Sharmila Devi further strained their chances. India attempted an all-out attack but failed to score. A penalty stroke by Deepika from the spot helped India secure a 3-2 victory in just a few minutes to go full-time of the match.

Team India will face Team Thailand next on 14 November 2024.
